Forever Marilyn Sculpture Marilyn Monroe Chicago

A few years ago, I was able to travel to Chicago and went around the city. One of the attractions that we saw was the Marilyn Monroe inspired 26 foot-tall sculpture, "Forever Marilyn". The statue was created by Seward Johnson and displayed in Magnificent Mile from 2011-2012.

From 2012-2014, the sculpture was displayed in Palm Springs, California. Right now, it's in New Jersey. It's definitely a well-traveled and controversial sculpture. Controversial, because when it was initially in Chicago, a lot of folks complained that it doesn't have any connection to the city. It was vandalized twice when it was in Magnificent Mile.

This is the iconic Marilyn pose which was shown in the movie, "The Seven Year Itch". It was a very risque topic for a commemorative statue. Marilyn Monroe will be forever young and vibrant in our memories.
