Locks of Love | A Donate Your Hair Project by JCI-Zugbuana

"Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work." - Mother Teresa

What do Emma Watson, Halle Berry, Khloe Kardashian and Anne Hathaway have in common? They all are sporting short or pixie hair.

The Junior Chamber International Philippines - Zugbuana Chapter is spearheading the Locks of Love: A Donate Your Hair Project for the benefit of Kythe Foundation and ICanServe Foundation Cebu.

Women and Men who have long hair are challenged to donate their hair for the creation of wigs for Cancer survivors. For every 100 people who would be donating their hair, 10 wigs can be made for these amazing folks.

If you have short hair like mine or a bit sentimental of their long hair, there is another way of contributing to the project. The cost of making a wig is 750php. Any monetary donation would also go a long way in helping Cancer survivors to feel good about themselves by having these wigs.

The Locks of Love event will be held at SM Seaside Cebu on July 6, 2016, from 1PM-9PM. Hairstylists from Salon de Rose and the Rose Institute will be there on hand to cut and style your hair. There will also be raffle prizes to be given away.

If you prefer to have your own stylist do the cutting of your hair, you can still donate your hair. Just make sure to tie both ends with a rubber band and place the hair inside a zip lock bag.

Locks of Love Guidelines:

Acceptable for Donation
10 inches long minimum
Straight/Wavy
Rebonded/Relaxed
Solid Colored Hair

If outside Cebu, and you still want to participate, you sure can. Place the ponytail in a ziploc then send to:

How great that you mention you can have your own stylist cut your hair to donate it. My sister has cancer and wants to get a wig actually. I will find her great wigs for cancer in her area.
