Magnum Cebu Pop-up Opens in SM Seaside

You never forget your first --- or your second or third.

It's so vivid in my mind that I still remember the giddiness I felt when I held it in my hand. That first bite was a flavor sensation in my mouth.

A colorful sweet and sour dessert
My first gourmet Magnum bar creation at the new Magnum Cebu Pleasure Store is one for the books. I got to experience how to be a pleasure seeker at this newly-opened pop-up store in SM Seaside.

This is actually my second time to be in a Magnum Cafe. When they were in SM Aura in 2014, I was also able to have my own Magnum bar but with the help from the pleasure crew. But this time around, I was able to go behind the counter and be my own dessert chef.

They will officially be open to the public on November 17, 2016.

Six steps to Haven
Making your own Magnum bar is easy peasy. You start with choosing 3 toppings from a selection that is divided into 3 flavor categories, Classic, Special and Experimental.

The classic category would be your choco sprinkles, marshmallows, crushed choco chip cookies or oreos. Examples of Special would be dried mangoes, dried raspberries, or potato chips. And the Experimental options would be dried rose petals, chili flakes, Nerds or sea salt.

18 classic, special and experimental toppings

After choosing your toppings, it will be placed in a Martini shaker and shaken for a few seconds to fully combine the elements.

The next step is either having a Vanilla or Chocolate bar. Once you have your ice cream bar, you get to choose which Belgian chocolate to dip it with. They have Vanilla, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate.

Choose, Shake and Dip

Once done with the chocolate bath, you now pour the contents of the shaker on both sides of the ice cream bar. Drizzle some more of your fave Belgian chocolate. The final touch is the small choco Magnum button.

Magnum Made For You
It doesn't matter what combination you'll come up with. You can have over a hundred different variations and it still would give you a different kind of ice cream experience. You might not want to eat it immediately since it looks too pretty.

For my first Magnum Cebu gourmet bar, I choose Vanilla as my base, dried mangoes, dried rose petals and Nerds for my toppings. Milk chocolate dip and white choco drizzle.

It was sweet, creamy, aromatic, crunchy and a bit sour from the candies. While eating, I was already planning what to choose for my next Magnum creation.

Treat for Cebuanos
From November 17-26, be one of the first 50 customers to show the photo found in their Magnum PH Facebook page and you get the chance to build your own for free.

Another treat for Cebuanos will be the Sinulog-inspired Magnum Bar created by a London-based Designer to celebrate Cebu.

Viva Cebu! Viva Magnum!

Price and Location
For every Belgian chocolate experience, it will only cost you 120php. Not bad for something unique.

The pop-up store can be found in SM Seaside, Mountain Wing area. It's right infront of the Starbucks store.

Magnum Cebu will be here for a year so try not to miss out on this fun eating activity.
