Of Mimosas and Bloody Marys at Marco Polo Cebu's Sunday Brunch

I discovered two things that are a must when having Brunch, Mimosas and Bloody Marys. They're the best pick-me-ups especially after a night of painting the town red.

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu's Cafe Marco has been hosting their Sunday Brunch Plus since the month of May; I was lucky enough to snag an invite one Sunday morning.

Brunch ala Gossip Girl

I have a confession to make. I used to be a fan of the hit WB series, Gossip Girl. For me, it wasn't about the intrigues or the romances or the break-ups of the show's characters --- the attraction was all about the place, Upper East Side Manhattan and the privilege life of it's citizens.

In episode 2 of the first season, Chuck Bass and his family hosted a Champagne Brunch at their hotel; I was fascinated by that party concept. It got me thinking on how glamorous a Champagne Brunch is; All of this came to my mind while munching a slice of Salmon Sashimi and sipping my second flute of Mimosa. I felt like I was in my own episode of Gossip Girl.

A Sunday Lifestyle

If you look up the meaning of Brunch, the word is a portmanteau of Breakfast and Lunch. It's the perfect meal for those who aren't early risers. You have an array of options that ranges from crepes to croissants to fried eggs to Peking Duck to Lechon to Shrimp Tempura with no guilt whatsoever.

Recently, I've noticed that Brunches are more popular on Sundays. People tend to sleep a little longer on Sunday Mornings.

Cafe Marco's Sunday Brunch n' Bubbles with free flow drinks is priced at Php 1,800 nett while Brunch Only is at Php 1,450 nett. It starts at 11:30 AM and ends by 2:30 PM. You can reserve a table by calling Marco Polo Hotel at (032) 253 1111.

Another beautiful thing about this Sunday Brunch Plus is the DIY Bloody Mary Station! You can customize your drink according to your taste. A spicy Bloody Mary can jumpstart your appetite.

Food Extragavanza

Since Marco Polo Plaza is the only hotel in Cebu offering a Sunday Brunch expect that their buffet spread would titillate your taste buds.

Just looking at the photos that I took that day makes me wish that I could go back and experience the entire thing all over again.

Make your way to Marco Polo Plaza Hotel and be delighted with the Sunday Brunch Plus. Go ahead, indulge a little. It wouldn't hurt to live life through food. Food is life. Life is food especially if it's as good as Cafe Marco's Sunday Brunch.

Just a tip to a fellow foodie, come hungry and prepare to pander to your cravings.
