The first Metro department store was opened in 1982 in downtown Cebu City. Located on historic Colon street, it started out as a 3-level building but it enjoined huge success with Cebuano shoppers that within two years of its operations, they were able to expand into a 7-storey department store and supermarket.
Over the years, they opened several more stores in Cebu as well as in various cities in the Luzon and Visayas areas. As a way of thanking their loyal shoppers, The Metro Stores will be celebrating nationwide through their 37th AnniberSAYA Sale from October 18 to 20, 2019.
