How to Commute: Cebu IT Park to Talisay City

Last Sunday Morning, we decided to take a trip to Talisay City and have Lechon for Breakfast.

We commuted from Cebu City to Talisay City and it took us about an hour to get there. This was a Sunday Morning so traffic was not an issue. We first rode the Mango Jeep, a modernized jeepney, which has a Transport Hub along Geonzon St. in IT Park in LahugThis particular route was via Escario - Banawa areas. The total cost of fare per person is 43php. We alighted the jeep right at the center of Poblacion, Talisay City

After breakfast, we decided to go to SM Seaside before going home so we took the Mango Jeep. The pseudo-terminal is located beside the Parish of Sta. Teresa de Avila. The ride from Poblacion to SRP highway costs 14php (minimum). From SRP, we waited for a MyBus to take us to SM Seaside and we paid 30php each for the ride.

The dropped-off area is at The Seaview Wing of the mall. This is also where the bus going back to Cebu IT Park is found and the fare is 33php per passenger. The trip back from SM Seaside to IT Park was via Ayala Center Cebu.

My overall experience of doing the commute was fairly easy. There were wait times at the terminals because of the frequency of the arrival of the vehicles plus the volume of commuters. But, at least, you know that there will be incoming rides and that vehicles are air-conditioned. No dusty and hot commute because of old and dilapidated vehicles.

I hope these routes from Cebu IT Park to the rest of Cebu will be permanently allowed. It's convenient and makes things simple and easy. Mass transportation should be an advocacy of the Provincial and various City governments.
